James City County appoints Economic Development Authority Directors

James City County's Board of Supervisors appointed Thomas G. Tingle and reappointed Mark G. Rinaldi to James City County's Economic Development Authority (EDA). Both were appointed to four-year terms.

 

Rinaldi, Director of Planning and Development at P.F. Summers Development, LLC, was first appointed to the EDA in 2000. He has served on the EDA's Technology Initiatives Committee, been co-liaison for the Comprehensive Plan/Planning Commission committee, and presently serves as the EDA's Vice Chair. A Yorktown native, Rinaldi earned a bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary, and master's in urban and regional planning from Virginia Tech. He is a certified planner who has earned the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation, is active in planning and development industry associations and was recently appointed to serve on the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality's Peer Review Team.

 

Tingle is a principal with Guernsey Tingle Architects in Williamsburg.  He joined the firm in 1984 when it was known as Magoon/Guernsey Architects, and became an Associate with the firm in 1985 and was named Principal in 1986.  Prior to Guernsey Tingle Architects, Tingle worked with MMM Design Group in Norfolk, Morrisette, Cederquist, Bondurant and Associates in Norfolk, and apprenticed with Phillips and Petihory, PC in Williamsburg and S.W. Dawson in Kilmarnock.

 

Tingle's 25 years of experience have included responsibility for all phases of architectural projects, from feasibility analysis and programming to specification writing and construction administration.  His work has been featured in numerous magazines, as well as newspapers in Norfolk, Newport News, Williamsburg, and Richmond.  In addition to designing commercial, recreational, institutional and residential projects, he oversees production management and quality control.  His extensive involvement in community affairs includes numerous boards of directors and advisory board seats.  Tingle also served as President of the Williamsburg Area Chamber of Commerce 1997-1998.
