Construction Begins on Barré
Company Facility in James City County

A ceremonial ground breaking took place in March for The Barré Company's new 40,000-square foot facility in Stonehouse Commerce Park at the western end of James City County. In fact, site work is already under way. The New Jersey-based company manufactures metal cabinets for clients in the electronics, computer, communications, medical and automotive industries. It is investing $3 million in the facility and will employ 25 people within the first 18 months of business.

Representatives on hand from The Barré Company, the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, Delmarva Properties, Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler, Guernsey/Tingle Architects, McKinney and Company Engineering, and W. M. Jordan Construction. James City County representatives included members of the Board of Supervisors, Economic Development Authority, County Administration, and Office of Economic Development.
