The State of Virginia granted James City County an enterprise zone until 2016. The program offers state & local incentives for commercial and industrial investment, development, and expansion.
Low interest, tax exempt industrial revenue bonds are available for eligible industrial projects through the Economic Development Authority of James City County. SBA Loan packaging and low interest loan programs exist for qualified projects through the James River Certified Development Corporation. Many areas in James City County qualify for the USDA’s Rural Development Business and Industry Guaranteed Loan Program.
The Economic Development Authority (EDA) of James City County offers a business assistance program that provides a variety of services to qualified businesses. Under the program, the EDA offers assistance through an assortment of offerings from small grants to guidance with business planning or assistance with understanding processes and zoning in the County.
The County has set aside a business assistance grant fund to help businesses grow revenues and jobs through e-commerce.
